Failover Routing With Two Failover Steps

Failover Routing With Two Failover Steps

Similar to Failover Routing With One Failover Step, Failover Routing With Two Failover Steps allows users to configure additional endpoints, in this case two, where calls will be routed. This adds a layer of redundancy in case an outage, failure or large volume of calls make it impossible to connect calls to both the primary and the secondary endpoint. Endpoints can be both SIP-based, provisioned through endpoint management page on the portal, as well as PSTN-based (i.e. a DID).

In a typical scenario, the second endpoint may be a PSTN DID - to mitigate any potential outages that could affect all IP based endpoints, such as a corporate WAN failure.

Any endpoint can easily be suspended or turned off, by selecting the "Off" check-mark and Saving the routing configuration for the Toll Free or DID number.
