Canadian and US Telemarketing laws require telemarketers to capture DNC requests and keep these requests on file for a period of several years. Because of the number of Caller IDs which telemarketers often use and the spiky nature of DNC Request calls, managing call routing and DNC request collection and capture can pose a challenge. However, being able to effectively manage DNC requests is critical for telemarketers since the CRTC and the FCC have handed down large fines to contact centers not respecting customers' Do Not Call requests.
To help with the problem, Star Telecom has developed a DNC Request Capture and Collection service. The service enables telemarketers to associate their incoming Star Telecom Toll Free and DID numbers with an DNC Collection Interactive Voice Response (IVR) service. The purpose of this specialized DNC Request Collection IVR service is to capture telephone numbers of customers who wish to be placed on the Do Not Call list.
The service works like this: Upon calling the Caller ID Number displayed by the telemarketer, the customer hears a brief greeting explaining the nature of the call and is asked whether they wish to have their telephone number added to the DNC List. If the customer responds affirmatively, the customer is asked to key in the telephone number they wish to have added to the Do Not Call list. Once the number is keyed and confirmed, the call ends.
The number the customer entered, the original number the customer called and the date and time of each call are stored in Star Telecom's database. Once per day, these requests are exported and provided to the telemarketer so that the telemarketer can scrub and manage their DNC lists according to the regulatory requirements.
The DNC Request Capture service is available 24x7 and has the bandwidth to handle a large number of concurrent calls; therefore freeing our clients from the headache of having to manage DNC collection on their own.
